DRY WASHING
Below some brief instructions for hand-washing silk:
COOL IRON 110°
A dot indicates that the garment can be ironed at a low temperature, not exceeding 110 degrees. Silk should always be ironed inside out and still slightly damp. Always adjust the iron. Silk should never be ironed at high temperatures! It is good practice to put a cotton cloth between the garment and the iron plate. This prevents the steam from making stains or halos and protects the silk from excessive heat that could ruin it.
DRY FLAT IN SHADE
A square with a horizontal line and two cross lines: dry the garment horizontally in the shade. Always dry the silk on a horizontal surface to ensure it does not deform.
DO NOT BLEACH
A triangle crossed out with an X means do not bleach. In this case you should not use any kind of bleach on the garment.
DO NOT TUMBLE DRY
Silk is very delicate and the high temperatures of the tumble dryer can shrink or damage your silks.

HAND WASHING
● This symbol indicates hand washing.
● For good hand washing, it is recommended to soak the silk in warm water for 5 minutes; use a specific detergent for silk or mild soap. If the fabric is dyed, it should be rinsed quickly and if a little white vinegar is added to the water, the colours will be kept vibrant.
● If the garment is made of white silk, it is advisable to add a little hydrogen peroxide when rinsing, which will bleach the fabric without damaging it.
● Shake carefully without twisting the fabric and then rinse well using cold water. Then wrap the silk in a dry towel to remove the remaining water (in the case of dark-coloured or printed silk, use a double layer of towels). Unroll the towel and stretch slightly at the corners.
